Summary: If you could have any animal’s home, whose would you choose? What if you woke up one morning and discovered you were living inside a wild animal’s home instead of your own? How would that change your daily life? What If You Had an Animal Home!? is the next imaginative book in Sandra Markle’s popular What If You Had…? series. If you had a honeybee’s home, you’d always have room service. If you had a meerkat’s home, you’d play hide-and-seek for hours. And a hermit crab’s home would follow you wherever you go! The animal kingdom has tons of amazing homes, but yours is pretty great, too! Discover what your life would be like if you had these special animal homes — and find out why your home is just right for you!
Review: What if one day you woke up and were inside an animal home? The picture book What if you had an Animal Home!? is all about the amazing homes of a variety of animals out there in our world including birds, bees, sea creatures, etc. The book also shows how incredible human homes are as well. The illustrations in this book are my favorite part, and I there are so many activities and lessons you could create with the images alone. It is really cute how they have a human in each of the animal homes in the illustrations and then give a fact if a human lived in that type of home. Kids at this age love series, and knowing that there are other books like this would be a huge draw to these books. If I were a teacher in the younger grades, I would use these for research projects or simply introducing how to use graphic organizers.
