As Battaglia uncovers the truth, she must also confront her failing health and the emotional scars left by her past.
Review:
The Sleeping Nymph is a dark, atmospheric thriller that blends art, mythology, and crime with psychological depth. Ilaria Tuti’s writing is lush and immersive, though at times dense, creating a world that is as beautiful as it is brutal. The novel’s focus on the power of women and their connection to nature stands out, offering a striking contrast to the violence at the story’s core.
While the plot can feel convoluted, Tuti’s character development is excellent. Teresa Battaglia remains a compelling protagonist—complex, flawed, and fiercely strong. The reappearance of her ex-husband adds tension and gives readers greater insight into her resilience and independence.
This book is not for the faint of heart, but readers who appreciate richly detailed mysteries with emotional and psychological layers will find it deeply rewarding.
